OUR CULTURE OUR PRIDE
Generations after generations
Kingdoms after kingdoms
Clans after clans
Our culture has retarded
Traditions are regarded as diabolical and demonic
Our story remains untold
Many in suffering, poverty and scarcity
Many are homeless and can’t afford 3 meals a day
While some are in their mansions with air conditioners
Hypocrisy everywhere
Bribery and corruption now the order of the day
Every day in the news, we hear of millions, billions and
trillions carted away from the federal purse
This always repeating itself without anybody been caught
as the culprit
Tribalism everywhere
Our country blessed with natural and human resources
Yet, there’s still scarcity in the midst of the plenty
Many claim to be Christians, Muslims or traditional
worshippers
But their lives is the direct opposite of what they profess
Young ladies going into prostitution
Gentlemen now patronizing cyber crimes
The whites are given preference over the blacks
Our educational system is nothing to write home about
No water, no good roads, no food and no electricity
It’s been said that nobody is above the law
Yet some offenders go unpunished because of their
connections
Politicians now take lies and hypocrisy as their profession
Promising the poor masses heaven and earth
When they are elected-those promises becomes a church
on the wind
Many have sold their conscience and have thrown their
integrity into the ocean because of money
I refuse to be among those who sell their conscience all
because of their selfish interest and benefit
I refuse to be among those people who acquire the latest
cars, jewelries through false means
I refuse to reap where I didn’t sow
I refuse to be against the peace and unity of Nigeria
Enough of the hatred for our fellow brothers and sisters
My people, let join hands together to make this country
great
It’s your responsibility
You may not be known
You may not be able to change Nigeria
But in your little corner influence your world positively
Kingdoms after kingdoms
