THE NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF ANGER

A guy (a hustler) and a rich man's daughter - both of them attended the same fellowship in University. They graduated and they went for service  (they were sent to different states).
.
A few years later, they met in an event and that was how the smoke of relationship started.
.
6 months into the relationship, the guy introduced the lady to his parents and the lady did the same.
.
The lady's father secretly advised the guy to stay clear.
.
He never listened.
.
One fateful day, the lady's father showed up at the guy's place only to threaten the guy to back off from his daughter. He said the daughter already has a fiance. He threatened to lock the guy up for years if he's not complying. Before he left, his last words were 'if my daughter gets to know about this, I'll deal with you'.
.
The guy began to withdraw from the relationship and the girl asked what happened and he just gave excuses.
.
The guy kept on seeing the girl but never opened up to her.
.
The lady's father visited the guy with some armed men and they gave the guy the beating of his life.
.
Yet, the guy still continued his relationship with the girl.
.
The lady's father convinced the lady to go abroad for masters (which she did).
.
 He did this to abort the relationship.
.
The lady was always in touch with the guy.
.
One fateful day, the guy was robbed (his phone and wallet were gone) and so he lost communications with the lady.
.
Three years later, the guy has forgotten about the lady - no calls and all his effort to get to her was futile.
.
The lady came home one day and then decided to check up on the guy only for her to see a lady - the guy's junior sister who just came back from school and decided to stay with her big bro.

Long story short, the lady got angry and vowed to punish the guy before she left.

The lady sued the guy saying he defrauded and raped her. The guy was given 15yrs imprisonment. He was supposed to get 4yrs but with the connection they had, they made it 15.
.
One day, she decided to go visit the guy in prison (All this while she never asked the guy what happened - why he couldn't wait for her).
.
There she got the shock of her life, the guy told her everything from her he was threatened and to be beaten by her dad.
.
The lady blamed herself for allowing her anger to prevail.
.
 Anger if not controlled can negatively affect our well-being and that of those around us. This is to say a person experiencing excessive anger will often experience health problems such as headache, digestion problems, such as headaches, insomnia, chest pains, depression, high blood pressure, skin problems, hypertension, heart attack, stroke, etc.

A lot of times we misinterpret the actions (looks/intentions) of people and that makes us angry.
When you get angry you destroy yourself.
 
Anger also causes feelings
like guilt, remorse, and shame (especially if you generally act out in ways that you later regret.).

BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Years back when I was in SS1, everyone around me described JAMB as a tough exam. You have to read and read, you must be exceptionally intelligent, you must be this and that ... I held on to this fear and by the time I was in SS3, most of my classmates registered themselves for JAMB but I refused to do the same. Instead, I told my dad I'll like to school in the Benin Republic (I had friends schooling there) and he kind of agreed. I was happy (I felt I have conquered my enemy - JAMB).   Challenges are bound to happen when it happens, our response to it determines what we get from it - we either become courageous/stronger or timid/weaker. They tried and failed but they were consistent and they never allowed the crowd to silence them. They continued until they got what they wanted.
